Metallography

    • Cutting: using metallurgical cut-off machines and benchsaws
    • Mounting: capability for cold mounting (fast and slow cure), hot mounting and pressure mounting
    • Grinding & Polishing: capability to operate in manual and automatic modes
    • Etching: using chemical and electrolytic etching
    • Optical Microscopy: conducting microstructural and image analysis using upright and inverted optical microscopes

Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDS)

    • Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC): determines the thermal transitions during phase transition as a function of temperature that is unique to the polymer
    • Thermomechanical Analysis (TMA): measure coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) as a function of temperature

Spectroscopic Analysis

    • Fourier Transform Infrared Analysis (FTIR): identification of organic materials or polymers
    • Raman Spectroscopy: complementary to FTIR, identification of chemical structure of compounds

Mechanical Testing
